Project 2: focus with a set aperture

Every time I planned to go out it has been raining so I've had to resort to using a 'still life' for this project. I did something similar last year for an exercise in the Open University T189 course but that was using my Bridge camera 'Olympus SP 560UZ' but I want to use my new DSLR whenever possible.

I set up a line of 'silk paint' bottles and set my camera up on a tripod. I set my camera to 'aperture-priority' mode so the camera will automatically choose the correct shutter speed.

Photo 1 - focus on 1st bottle.

23mm, 1/6sec, f/3.5, 100 ISO

Photo 2 - focus on 4th bottle from right.

23mm, 1/6sec, f/3.5, 100 ISO

Photo 3 - focus on last bottle.

23mm, 1/6sec, f/3.5, 100 ISO

I prefer the 1st photograph - the bottles gradually become out of focus the further back you look i.e. Depth of field.
