Project 9: focal lengths

I used my Olympus SP-560UZ for this project because it has a greater range of focal lengths on the zoom lens.

The sensor on the Olympus is 1/2.3 (6.16 x 4.62) compared with a 35mm film camera. The first number is when it is converted using this website and the number in brackets is the focal length on my camera.

I walked along to Everton's football ground for this series of photos.

Photo 1 - 26.8mm (4.7mm)

Photo 2 - 33.1mm (5.8mm)

Photo 3 - 42.2mm (7.4mm)

Photo 4 - 53.6mm (9.4mm)

Photo 5 - 76.4mm (23.4mm)

Photo 6 - 133.4mm (23.4mm)

Photo 7 - 189.8mm (33.3mm)

Photo 8 - 336.8mm (84.2mm)

You can see in photos 1 and 2 that there is an obvious distortion. Photos 3 and 4 are closer to what the eye sees.
