As you can see from this first photograph placing something in the centre doesn't always work. It was taken very quickly before the magpie flew away. It was sat on a TV aerial on the roof of the house opposite and taken through my studio window. It looks like a statue but I think it would look better placed further to the right with a tighter crop and in portrait form.

This statue is placed to the left of the frame because the boy is looking to the right so draws your eye into the photograph. If it had been to the right it would have drawn your eye out of the frame.
